2025 is charging by!
The year kicked off with rehearsals, workshop weekend and open nights accumuluting with a "little" road (or plane) trip across to Melbourne at Easter for the National Band Championships. Marion played well in C grade, as this is always a great test of abilities in a National level competitions, with a wider field of bands. A final result overal of 5th of 10 bands, and a great weekend away including a social dinner night!
Home to support ANZAC events, with Mairon Youth Vigil, Marion and Edwardstown Dawn Services, and the City March along the way - and some excellent support by our last post buglars representing on the morning.
Then it was straight into Concert rehearsals, with a Film funk and Fanfares afternoon entertainment at the Marion Cultural Centre in June. What a great play, with a large audience listening on as the band played music from films, movies, and a few other classics thrown in.
Several player took the opportunity to compete in the Salisbury Slow Melody in June, with quite a few certificates and photos being posted through our facebook feed with highlights of the day.
So what next..... yes ... State Band Championships! Rehearsals, open rehearsal pre-play night, then on stage for the big day.
So as the year moves on.... it is prep time for Hanhdorf Band festival, several council community support plays and.... into Christmas pageants.
As alway, our most current displays are through our Facebook feed, so jump on and have a look there. We don't always remember to take photos or get a perfect pose shot., with music being our focus of the day - but there is generally something captured that we can share on for our followers to get an idea of whats happening - events or behind the scenes.
