Sat 7th and Sunday 8th March 2009

Marion City Band was the first act in a concert in support of the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal, held at Naracoorte. The 7 hour free concert included many local acts and an Australian Idol contestant and raised over $7300.00, including the donations that the MCB had collected in Keith the previous day.

Sunday April 19th 2009 - Airport Memorial Service

Marion City Band played a small selection for the Return Air-force Personnel Memorial Service, including the last post.

Saturday April 26th 2009 - ANZAC day March

Marion City Band marched the streets of Adelaide (twice), to the march “Sure and Stedfast” in support of Anzac Day City March.

Sunday May 3rd 2009 - Salisbury Slow Melody

Warriparinga Brass and Marion City Band members once again showed their talents at this years event, well done to all participants.

Saturday June 20th and Sunday June 21st - State Solo Championships

Warriparinga Brass and Marion City Band was well represented at the State Solo Championships, with multiple entries across Solos and Ensembles categories ( Junior, Senior and Novice sections).

Sunday June 28th 2009 - Kadina

Marion City Band were invited to Kadina to perform a concert in the local theatre for members of the community. After a shared lunch put on by the generosity of the Anglican Church members (of which BJs parents are members), the band played a selection of Cabaret pieces to the great delight of the audience.

Saturday July 4th 2009 - Greg and Anne’s Wedding

MCB and Warri players played “Crazy little thing called love” as Anne walked down the “isle” to join Greg in their Wedding ceremony.  After the ceremony, while being congratulated by their family and friends, the Band played a selection of songs,  finishing with photos in front of the band.

Saturday August 29th - State Band Championships

MCB results: C Grade - 2nd Place (by 1 point)

Warri results: Junior Brass - 1st place
