Preparations for Nationals
With the countdown to the Hobart National Band Championships only a few weeks away, rehersal sessions are very focussed .... and all the finer details of dynamics, tidy entries, feet flat on floor and generally looking and sounding “the best that we can be... and then a bit” are being worked on.
Marion City Band street Marchers had the opportunity Mon 8th March (yes, very dedicated group giving up their time on a long weekend public holiday) of a Marching session with Keith Moore who is a Drum Major in Victoria and a Marching Adjudicator, who happened to be passing via Adelaide at an opportune time.
MCB practiced Dressing (by the centre), Marching and Playing with music dynamics, left forms (turn), crash halts, etc, etc etc.
In final preparation, MCB and Warriparinga Brass (along with Holdfast Concert Band) will be performing a concert of selection pieces..... and then it is on to Hobart for the Easter weekend.
